Installation of solar panels 2025

Your donations, along with those from the Fustel de Coulanges French High School, have enabled to install solar panels for the refectory and kitchen. A big thank you to you! The children can now study with greater peace of mind.

Our social work with children requires a stable and reliable source of energy, for their nutrition, education, schooling and entertainment. The desire is therefore to expand the installation of solar panels. The context and realities of the country, and particularly of the locality of Soa, are not favorable in terms of electricity supply. From the low power supply to the multiple power outages, not to mention the lack of maintenance of the electricity network and the increase in electricity bills, it is difficult to effectively ensure the support and guidance of our children, and it reduces our budget for other projects.

The lack of lighting at night compromises their safety by increasing the risk of accidents. Power outages make it more difficult to perform certain tasks in the evening (dishes, cooking), but also during the day (computer work). This also interrupts the power supply to refrigerators, compromising food preservation.

Solar energy is a stable, reliable, and environmentally friendly resource. Installing a solar energy system capable of supporting the foundation's current and future facilities is therefore essential in our shared and collaborative approach to improving the living conditions of Petit Dan and Sarah's children. This would provide more stable electricity and save money in the long term.

As part of this project, we want to opt for a ground space with 20 solar panels, protected by a wire mesh fence, to power the entire foundation.
